How to prevent water and moisture for the enclosure of box type substation

source:www.suaite.com  |  Release time:2025年03月31日
The waterproof and moisture-proof enclosure of box type substation can be achieved by the following measures:
1. optimize housing design
Inclined top cover is adopted: the top cover of box type substation is designed in an inclined shape, so that rainwater can quickly fall from the top, reducing the accumulation of rainwater on the top, thus reducing the possibility of rainwater infiltration into the box.
Set waterproof groove and drain hole: set waterproof groove at the edge or bottom of the shell to collect rainwater that may seep in, and guide the rainwater to a place far away from the box through the drain hole. Drain holes shall be inspected regularly to ensure that they are unobstructed.
Reasonable design of air vent: air vent is an important part of box type substation to maintain internal air circulation, but it may also become a channel for rainwater and moisture to enter. Therefore, the vent shall be designed with waterproof structure. For example, the louvered vent shall be adopted, and a waterproof baffle shall be set inside to prevent rainwater from entering the box directly.
2. select appropriate sealing material
Use sealant strips: install sealant strips on doors, windows, manholes and other parts of box type substation. When these parts are closed, the sealant strips can form a tight seal to prevent rainwater and moisture intrusion. The sealant strip shall have good elasticity, aging resistance and weather resistance to ensure long-term effective sealing effect.
Apply sealant: use sealant to block some gaps, holes and parts that may leak on the shell. The sealant shall have good adhesion and waterproof performance and be able to adapt to different environmental conditions.
3. carry out anti-corrosion treatment for the shell
Spraying anti-corrosion paint: spraying anti-corrosion paint on the shell surface of box type substation can not only improve the appearance of the shell, but also prevent the shell from being corroded by the external environment and prolong the service life of the shell. The anti-corrosion paint shall have good water resistance and weather resistance, and can effectively block the contact between water and air and the metal shell.
Hot dip galvanizing process: for some metal shell parts, hot dip galvanizing process can be used for treatment. Hot dip galvanizing can form a dense zinc layer on the metal surface, which has good anti-corrosion performance and can effectively prevent the corrosion of moisture and moisture on the metal.
4. install dehumidification device
Use dehumidifier: install dehumidifier inside the box type substation, remove the moisture in the air inside the box through the work of the dehumidifier, reduce the humidity of the air inside the box, so as to achieve the purpose of moisture prevention. The dehumidifier shall be selected with appropriate power and model according to the size and humidity of the box type substation.
Place desiccant: place desiccant, such as silica gel, in the box type substation. The desiccant can absorb moisture in the air and keep the environment inside the box dry. The desiccant should be checked and replaced regularly to ensure its hygroscopic effect.
5. drainage treatment
Set drainage gradient: set a certain drainage gradient on the ground where the box type substation is installed, so that the surrounding water can be drained smoothly and avoid soaking the box with water. The drainage gradient is generally not less than 0.5%, and should be reasonably designed according to the actual terrain and drainage direction.
Connect the drainage pipe: connect the drainage hole on the shell of the box type substation with the drainage pipe, and discharge the collected rainwater and moisture to the distant drainage system. Drainage pipes shall have sufficient diameter and slope to ensure smooth drainage.
